Yuki's Registration Form
City: The countryside between Washington, PA and Morgantown, WV (yay rural living ><)
*State: Pennsylvania
*Why you want to join: I want to join under Jii's invitation (which was admittedly a long time ago, I feel so bad about just getting time to do it now because I've been really excited about it for a while) because I absolutely LOVE cosplay, but I've never gotten the chance to be in character while doing it, or hang out with other people that will help me really hone my skills. I want to learn better acting skills, as well as better poses for taking pictures - and to generally just hang out with awesome people.
*Your cosplay experience (i.e. how long have you been cosplaying) : Coming up on three years...basically since I've been able to actually afford it once I learned how awesome it sounded.
*How you portray what being "in character" is in detail: Being in character means acting and reacting in ways that are canon to the character one is portraying, even if the situation one is in is not a canon one. It means adopting the personality of that character and really letting it become second nature to you so that the way you act seems natural rather than forced, and you are able to react quickly without having to think about what your character would do. Or at least - that's basically what it is in role-play, but in real life one would have to be able to think even faster in react with real people face-to-face.
*Example of your "in character" experience in detail (if you have one): Oh, right. Well, I don't have any real in character experiences sadly, but as I mentioned in my previous answer, I have been role-playing for ages (seriously, about nine years now) and even run my own forum, so I at least know how to WRITE in character even if I have never acted in character for more than like, five minute increments when my friends have thought it would be fun.
*Which character you would like to have and why: Though Jii admittedly does him better than I could ever hope to, I would *love* to attempt Ciel Phantomhive from Kuroshitsuji. I'm working hard on making a few of his different outfits work out for me, and I have started role-playing as him recently. I have one outfit even being custom-made for me as we speak - I should have it 20 January. Otherwise, I'd do Roxas from Kingdom Hearts II, but I really need to invest in a wig rather than spiking my own hair again (fail). Roxas was my first cosplay ever, and he is one of my favourite characters of all time (shut up, Kingdom Hearts haters) so he will always hold a special place in my heart - even if he doesn't have one of his own. *facepalm*
*Have you read the Q&A and Rules? : I fully read & understood all the rules.
*Do you plan on attending some of the events (if you are able to make it): As long as I am not working, and the weather is good, I am going to try to get up to where you guys are! I would super love to do events when I can!
* Decribe to me how you prepare your cosplay. What elements do you being together for your costume?: ('Describe' is spelled wrong in the template - sorry, grammar Nazi) Cosplay begins with truly falling in love with a character in a series - a character that you see and either you can see yourself reflected in them, or they just have a personality or look that is appealing to you. My next step has always been to tear apart how their outfits are put together using normal clothes, and then doing my best to find those pieces at thrift stores and other second-hand locations. After some love and alterations (and a bit of luck), one can get surprisingly close to what the character actually wears. I find my wigs on eBay typically, and thus far the three nice ones I've bought have definitely not been disappointing.
Anything special you'd like to bring into the community?: My awesomeness? Haha. Actually, I'm really hoping to LEARN from his community more than anything - I'm bringing my friendship though! As cheesy as that sounds.
Additional Questions: I just hope I don't disappoint anyone/embarrass myself, heh. Everyone's cosplays look so good x_x

Re: Yuki's Registration Form
hey Yuki, please to meet cha! It's nice to get a new member. I'm Neko-zombie of course ( *points to user name on the right*) You and I are kinda the same lol I'm still trying to act like my character outside from the role play world though I've been rping for almost 5 years x3. I also try to look at my character's outfit and see what I can find in thrift stores and other places ( GOD BLESS GODWILL! XD) then modify them as best as I can.
Re: Yuki's Registration Form
We have a lot in common indeed then!!! Maybe we'll have to even RP together sometime, that'd be totally awesome

Me too! It's just going to depend on my work schedule, and if I can get the chance to drive to them, considering it's about an hour and a half away and I'm always low on petrol as it is, heh. But I want to come, definitely!!! I'm actually really excited about it!
And thanks for all the warm welcomes, everyone~

Re: Yuki's Registration Form
Hi Yuki thanks for applying. Before I can grant you Ciel as a character I would like an example on your in character ability as him. You are accepted to the group however, but please fill out the character interview to see if you can get Ciel as yours. Thanks.
Re: Yuki's Registration Form
Gah, sorry it's taking me ages to reply - been getting ready for my mission trip, and I leave REALLY early tomorrow morning, so I won't even have a computer this coming week. Sorry about that!
I'll do it as soon as I can when I get back.
So you just want me to post an intro about personality and such? Whatever needs done, just tell me, and I'll do it when I come back and have a computer again~

Re: Yuki's Registration Form
Everything you need to do can be found within the rules and Q&A, i know you didn't read all through the rules cause you didn't post a a requirement which is stated within the rules. So please do so. When you get the chance of course, no rush.Yuki wrote:Gah, sorry it's taking me ages to reply - been getting ready for my mission trip, and I leave REALLY early tomorrow morning, so I won't even have a computer this coming week. Oh, okay. I see all the links now. Sorry for jumping the gun a bit and not filling everything out. I'll at least start the rest of it all now.
